Non-Positionality
The pleasure of experiencing Kelly Morris’s art lies in the sense that we are glimpsing the inner workings of an artist’s mind—peering into someone else’s dream or wandering through fragments of memory.
True to the show’s title, Non-Positionality, Morris’s work leaves viewers in contemplation rather than offering definitive answers. His images appear disconnected at first, with titles that offer subtle clues to their enigmas.
Cheerful color palettes, hand-crafted frames with an almost ecclesiastical presence, and the careful interplay of these elements all converge to create an experience that is as puzzling as it is compelling.
